Well, It looks like Spring is in the air. Or at least, a day at a time. Winter just wants to hold on a little bit more. Spring always makes me think of going to park on Easter after Church for a picnic and Easter Egg Hunt. There were quite a few of us, counting cousins and friends. Picnics make wonderful memories. The type that stay with you all the years of your life. Running around as kids. Watching your own kids run around. Watching your Grandkids run around. That is something lifetimes are made for. So, on the first pretty day you can, Get your Kids, Grandkids, or just someone special and head for the park, a lake, or just somewhere quiet and make your own memory to last you a lifetime.

Hello Everyone,
Well, winter is upon us and Valentines day around the corner. I know that many women like to get flowers and candy on Valentines Day. And we will not forget the favorite of jewelry. But maybe something for the house or kitchen would be good too. I know the older I get the more non-romantic gifts mean as much as roses. I am looking forward to may be getting a new set of dinnerware that I have had my eye on. Or maybe the new canister set . Well I guess you get my meaning. Or maybe the flowers and the new dinnerware set. NOW THAT WOULD BE A GREAT VALENTINES GIFT!

Another New Year

Every New Year we try and live up to the hope of the new year by making promises of things we will do this year. Well, this year I am not going to make one. If I loose some weight, fine. If I manage to keep the dust bunnies out from the corners of the rooms, fine. If I get into the kitchen more often that my husband, he will appreciate it, but not a requirement for his love. I am the sis who married a guy who trained for being a chef. Not formally in one of those big cooking schools, but in high school. The guy won alot of awards for his cooking. I love to cook for family get togethers. My sis is the one who manages to cook everyday and do it well. The kitchen is still a special place for me though. It has always brought back memories, fun times, and warm feelings even today. So, this year I will just keep on enjoying the kitchen with my husband, with my sister and with my family. That is the only promise I make this year.

Check out this blog

Well, hi ya doing? Christmas is over and all the madness of shopping gone with it. I was kinda relieved by it. My grand kids liked what they got. Of course they would say that to me anyway. They are great kids. My sister is still waiting to see her grand kids, so she is still waiting for that relieve phase.

I was playing around the other day and just looking at other blogs and came across one I thought everyone who cooks might like. It is the French Cooking Board. If you don't see a recipe you would like to try here or at Mama's Gals Kitchen. Try this blog. They have some great recipes and other things on the site.

Well, I hope all your Christmas wishes came true, God bless all of you. And I hope everyone has a Happy New Year to come.

Check these Favorites from Our Family

Well, I dont know about you, but there always seems to be a great cook in everyfamily. My Mom was one and I have Aunts who are. As far as my generation, My sister is the best! She has posted some of my Favorites here for you to enjoy...... You have got to try the Feta Salmon Loaf, she gets recipes for a lot of places and makes up some too. So I really dont have an idea where these came from. We don't mean to not credit anyone but, we copy or make up or change recipes to fit our family. Check out more recipes at Mama's Gals Kitchen

Sourdough Starter

Hi everyone,
I just read a blog about sourdough start mix. I have been given sourdough starters before but never knew how to make one..... well, this one is from someone I know. I am going to try it. I dont use an outside camp dutch oven though. So I am going to try it in a regular dutch oven in and kitchen oven. Check out this blog and see for yourself. http://marksblackpot.blogspot.com/
